Irene Atno

Irene S. Atno, 86, of Newburg, PA formerly of NJ, died Tuesday, August 17, 2010 in her home.
Born August 6, 1924 in Passaic, NJ; she was a daughter of the late John and Lily Kudla Schultz.
She was a member of the Ridge Church of the Brethren in Shippensburg, PA and retired in 1982 from N.J. Bell Telephone. Irene was a member and past vice president of the Shippensburg Senior Citizens Group # 1 and bowled with the seniors at Shippensburg’s Parklanes. She was a 1942 graduate of Clifton High School, NJ.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond E. Atno, who died July 21, 2003, and one daughter Linda Strungis.
She is survived by two step-daughters; Nancy Gander of Pocono Lakes, PA and Virginia Westervelt and her husband Harry of Cedar Grove, NJ, two grandsons; Adam and Scott Strungis, five step-grandchildren; Charles and Thomas Gander, Todd, Grant, and Taylor Westervelt, and two great grandsons; Aidan Strungis and Christopher Gander.

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 20, 2010 in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc., Shippensburg, PA at 2 p.m. Officiating will be The Rev. Earl F. Stovall and The Rev. John A. Ile, Jr. Graveside services will be in the Bloomfield Cemetery, Bloomfield, NJ on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at 12 noon. The viewing will be held Friday one hour prior to the services in the funeral home.
