Ira H. Wadel, 90, of Shippensburg passed away Saturday, April 8, 2017 at Chambers Point, formerly Penn Hall.
He was born April 4, 1927 in Shippensburg. Ira was a son of the late William and Anna Shriner Wadel.
Ira retired from Pet Ritz, worked for the H.J. Heinz Co. and was a farmer. He attended the Shippensburg Independent Baptist Church.
Ira is survived by one daughter, Fay R. (Seth) Finkenbinder of Shippensburg, three grandchildren, Anita (Matthew) Smith of Mechanicsburg, Kelly (Brian) Saul of Williamsburg, VA and Diana (Jonathan) Feiser of Yorktown, VA, six great grandchildren, Ryan, Victoria and Robby Saul, Colin and Wesley Smith and Grayson Feiser, one brother, John Wadel of Orrstown and one sister, Anna Mary Weaver of Shippensburg.
In addition to his parents Ira was preceded in death by his wife, Esther May Byers Wadel whom he married July 10, 1948 and passed away November 9, 2015. Four brothers, William, Leslie, Albert and Wayne Wadel and four sisters, Eva Fleagle, Carrie Stewart, Nellie Lehman and Julia Wadel are also deceased.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 15, 2017 at 3 p.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Shippensburg with Pastor Kenneth Waggoner, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in the Methodist Cemetery, Upper Strasburg. A viewing will be held Saturday from 1 p.m. until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Shippensburg Independent Baptist Church, 308 S. Queen St., Shippensburg, PA 17257.
