Hulda Stum

Hulda Rebecca Stum, 98 a resident of the Shippensburg Health Care Center, formerly of Walnut Bottom and Shippensburg, died Wednesday, May 19, 2010 in the home.

Born December 1, 1911 in Shippensburg; she was a daughter of the late Albert and Beulah Perry Johnson.
Hulda was a member of the Prince Street United Brethren Church and a past member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Walnut Bottom. Years ago she worked at Musselman’s in Peach Glen, Penn Pants in Shippensburg and the Cumberland County Nursing Home.

She was preceded in death by her husband Louis E. Stum who died July 24, 1972 and three brothers and two sisters.

She is survived by four sons; G. Duane Stum and his wife Doris of Shippensburg, D. Louis Stum and his wife Lily of Upper Strasburg, Lonnie K. Stum and his wife Martha of Harrisonburg, VA, and Harlan G. Stum and his wife Peny of Walnut Bottom, four daughters; Beulah L. Baum and her husband John of Walnut Bottom, Patricia K. Arbegast and her husband Terry of Carlisle, Rebecca S. Etter of Chambersburg, Victoria A. Mathna and her husband Larry of Shippensburg, two brothers; Jack Johnson of Shippensburg and Harold Johnson of Newville, two sisters; Erma Heller of Aspers and Shirley Orndorff of Shippensburg, 23 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren, 8 great great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday May 24, 2010 in the Prince Street United Brethren Church, 20 North Prince Street, Shippensburg at 10:30 a.m. Officiating will be The Rev. James O. Bolich. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Newville. A viewing will be held Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc., 112 West King Street, Shippensburg.Memorial contributions may be made to the Prince Street United Brethren Church, 17 North Prince Street, Shippensburg, PA 17257.
