Hilda Humelsine

February 16, 1924 — January 7, 2014

Hilda P. Humelsine, 89, a resident of Green Ridge Village, Newville, formerly of Shippensburg, died Tuesday, January 7, 2014 in the Carlisle Regional Medical Center.

She was born February 16, 1924 in Chambersburg, PA. Hilda was a daughter of the late Robert H. and Fannie Pierce Kline.

She was a member of the Newville First Church of God. Hilda taught at Capital Area Intermediate Unit and was also a Teacher’s Aide at the Shippensburg Area Senior High School and the James Burd Elementary School in Shippensburg. She was a member of AARP # 2525, Shippensburg.

She is survived by two sons, Elwood C. Humelsine, Jr. of Odenton, MD, and Ronald E. Humelsine of Point of Rocks, MD, one daughter, Sharon L. Wolford of Shippensburg, one sister, Louise Shade of Chambersburg, nine grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Elwood C. Humelsine, I, who died June 13, 1979. Two grandchildren, three sisters, and two brothers are also deceased.

Memorial services will be held privately in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Shippensburg. Officiating will be The Rev. Wayne A. Good. There will be no viewing however a visitation will be held one hour prior to the services in the funeral home.
