Herbert F. “Herb” Miller, 89, of Newville, passed away on Friday, September 28, 2018 at Geisinger Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill.
Born Wednesday, November 7, 1928 in Newville, Cumberland County, he was a son of the late George and Eva Beaston Miller.
Herb was a United States Army Veteran serving in the Korean War. He was a member of the Green Spring First Church of God, Newville. Herb worked as an Electrician at the former Joppa Incorporated, Walnut Bottom, and later retired as an electrician from Markie Electric in York,
He is survived by one daughter, Vickie M. Galbraith, Newville; three grandsons, Justin (wife Julie) Zeigler, Phoenix Arizona, Clinton Zeigler, Newville, and Preston (wife Nicole) Simon, Plainfield; two great grandsons, Hunter Zeigler, Newville, and Liam Simon, Plainfield; one great granddaughter, Bella Simon, Plainfield; and one sister, Betty Hancock, Newville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dora M. Hamilton Miller, who passed away November 30, 2005, one daughter, Sherrie L. Simon, one brother, Leroy Miller, and one sister, Louise Henderson.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 4, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. in the Green Spring First Church of God, Newville. Burial will be in Newville Cemetery, with Military Honors conducted by the Shippensburg American Legion Post #223 Minutemen. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service in the Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Green Spring First Church of God, 1140 Greenspring Road, Newville, PA 17241.
