Herbert E. “Herb” Coy, 85, of Chambersburg, passed away the morning of Sunday, June 2, 2024 at SpiriTrust Lutheran, The Village at Luther Ridge.
He was born on Sunday, June 5, 1938 in Shippensburg, a son of the late Harry H. and Sarah E. Clendening Coy.
Herb worked for over 25 years at the former Acme Food Market until its closure. He then went on to work in the meat department at Walmart. Herb was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints, Chambersburg and Boy Scouts of America.
He is survived by three children, Keith (Lucinda) Coy of York, Kathy Coy of Wake Forest, NC, and Tina Bricker of Chambersburg; six grandchildren, Michael Coy of York, Andrew (Jamie) Coy of Greencastle, Anya (Abe) Monn of Greencastle, Lindsey (Jason) Lauver of York, Matthew (Kayla) Bricker of Dover, and Benjamin (Angi) Bricker of Greenwood, IN; 20 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Nancy L. Angst of Virginia and Rosetta E. Tucker of Chula Vista, CA.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his spouse, Patsy Ruth Varner Coy, whom passed away on January 22, 2016. He was also preceded in death by one son, Steven Coy; and two siblings, Richard A. Coy and Doris J. Etter.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 10, 2024 at 11:30 a.m. at Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg. Private burial will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
