Helen Nickle

Helen A. Nickle, 70, of Newville, died on the afternoon of Sunday, January 12, 2014, at the Holy Spirit Hospital.

She was born on August 11, 1943, in Shippensburg, a daughter of the late Clarence C. and Dorothy M. Craig.

Helen was employed at the former Newville Shoe Factory, until its closing. She then worked at Manor Care, Carlisle, in Housekeeping, until her retirement.

In her free time, Helen liked to read and watch football. She was especially fond of spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her three children, Edward E. (Kathy) Nickle of Shippensburg, Tammy J. Nickle of Newville, and Kathy J. (Charles) Nickle-Bair, III; four grandchildren, Clint and Shane Nickle and Kayla and Brandon Bair; two great grandchildren, Damien and James Nickle; and her sister, Peggy L. (Glenn) Chaney of Knot’s Island, NC.

Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Friday, January 17, 2014, at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Inc., Shippensburg. Interment will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery. Viewing will be Thursday evening, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at the funeral home.
