Helen P. Hoffman, 90, of Newburg, died Wednesday, September 18, 2013 in Manorcare, Chambersburg during her rehabilitation.
She was born July 24, 1923 in Greene Township, Franklin County. Helen was a daughter of the late Chester and Elsie Cosey Statler. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer O. Hoffman who died August 11, 1982, and three brothers, Harold, Wilbur, and Nelson Statler.
Mrs. Hoffman and her husband operated a family farm for many years. She was a member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church, Newburg.
She is survived by one daughter, Lavonne K. Reeder of Shippensburg, two brothers, Richard and Milton “Sonny” Statler both of Chambersburg, four sisters, Maxine Heckman of Mercersburg, Phyllis Stouffer of Greencastle, Mildred “Kathy” Mentzer of Shippensburg, and Shirley Wingert of Orrstown.
Funeral services will be held Monday, September 23, 2013 in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Shippensburg at 10:00 a.m. Officiating will be The Rev. Dale H. Miller, Jr. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. A viewing will be held Monday one hour prior to the services in the funeral home.
