Helen Marie “Jackie” Chamberlin Hinkle, 94, of Shippensburg, passed away peacefully into the arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ, the evening of Sunday, February 16, 2025 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on June 5, 1930 in Chambersburg, the daughter of the late Bernard W. and Anna Pearl Wingerd Chamberlin. She married Edward G. Hinkle on October 15, 1960. He preceded her in death on February 20, 1999.
She is survived by two children, LeAnn M. (Timothy L.) Vaughn of Meyersdale and Larry E. Hinkle (girlfriend Christine A. Linard) of Shippensburg; eight grandchildren, Jason (Ashley) Vaughn, Jennifer (Brant) Martin, Emily (Nick) Fallone, Adam (Kayla) Hinkle, Matthew (Sabrina) Vaughn, Coral Vaughn, Abigail (Dawson) Davis, and Olivia Vaughn (fiancé Zachary Summy); 18 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Jay Chamberlin of Palmyra.
Marie served the community of Shippensburg by being a Bank Teller, working at Henry’s Pharmacy, and until the very end, she was collecting orders as an Avon Representative. She enjoyed spending time with her family and attending their events.
She attended Prince Street United Brethren Church in Shippensburg. She is the eldest member and was part of the procession that opened the doors as the church moved from Orange Street to Prince Street. Her attendance was taken very seriously, as a result she had 90+ years of perfect recorded attendance. She recently even attempted to go on a snow closing day.
At the young age of 94, she was faithfully picking up her friends for their weekly dinner dates. Marie always had a smile on her face, hair done precisely, and perfectly matched accessories. She will be greatly missed by her family and all those that knew her.
