Helen F. Crouse, 94, a resident at the Shippensburg Episcopal Home and formerly of 120 East King Street, Shippensburg, passed away peacefully Friday, August 26, 2011 at the home.
Born November 25, 1916 in Shippensburg, she was a daughter of the late J. Paul and Carrie Beattie Fogelsanger.
Helen was a 1934 graduate of the Shippensburg Senior High School and a 1938 graduate of Shippensburg State Teachers College and later became an Elementary School Teacher for the Shippensburg and Chambersburg School Districts. She was a member of the Shippensburg Presbyterian Church where she formerly taught Sunday school. She was also a member of the Civic Club, Historical Society and the Philanthropy Educational Organization all in Shippensburg.
Surviving are one son; James R. Crouse and his wife Tace, Oviedo, FL, one daughter; Jean C. (Mrs. Philip) Ritchie, Shippensburg, four grandchildren; Brad Crouse, Catherine Richart, David Ritchie and Paul Ritchie and five great grandchildren
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold U. Crouse who died April 30, 1991 and two brothers, Arthur B. and Paul L. Fogelsanger.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at 11:00 AM in the Shippensburg Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Michael K. Miller and Rev. Steven R. Fleming officiating. Burial will be private in the Spring Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in the church.
