Harry C. Nenninger, 86, passed away Monday, February 20, 2023 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Born Thursday, December 31, 1936 in Mowersville, Franklin County, he was a son of the late Clarence L. and Clair Agnes Doyle Nenninger.
Harry was a United States Army veteran. He was a longtime member of the Ridge Church of the Brethren before becoming a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church.
He was a lifelong carpenter retiring in 1995 from the Carpenter’s Union Local 287 Harrisburg. In his younger years, Harry played baseball in the Blue Mountain League. He was involved in the Shippensburg Area Little League for many years as a coach and an umpire. He umpired the 1986 Little League Girls Softball World Series. Harry enjoyed camping with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Linda Fogelsanger Nenninger whom he married September 11, 1965 at the Ridge Church of the Brethren; one daughter, M. Diann (husband Daniel) Ryan, II, Carlisle; one granddaughter, Taylor A. Ryan, Carlisle; two sisters, May Holtry and Rosemary Tritt, both of Shippensburg.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, George L., Clarence A., and William A. Nenninger.
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 24, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. in the Trinity United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Robert Stump and Pastor John Hess officiating. Burial will be private. A viewing will be held Thursday, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 pm at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium Inc., and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church.
Military Honors will be conducted by the Cumberland County Honor Guard following the service at the Church.
