Harold L. “ Slim “ Holtry, 83, of Middle Spring Road, Shippensburg, died Monday, April 16, 2012 at his home.
Born Tuesday, June 12, 1928 in Shippensburg, he was a son of the late Lawrence A. and E. Pauline Snoke Holtry.
Harold retired in 1983 from Letterkenny Army Depot as an Ammunition Supervisor. He was a member of the Memorial Lutheran Church, Shippensburg.
Harold was a member of the Hub City Club, a life member of the Durff-Kuhn VFW Post # 6168 and the Oscar M. Hykes American Legion Post # 223 all of Shippensburg and a life member of the Loyal Order of Moose # 842 Chambersburg. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, James L. Holtry and one sister, Betty Merriman.
Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Jane L. Kelley Holtry, Shippensburg, two brothers, Charles L. Holtry and his wife Edith of Newburg and Lester L. Holtry, of Chambersburg and a number of nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, April 19, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the Spring Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. Brenda J. Kiser officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the Shippensburg Veterans Council. There will be no viewing or visitation.
