Harold Heller

June 11, 1917 — October 23, 2010

Harold D. Heller, 93, of Troon Drive, Chambersburg, died Saturday, October 23, 2010 in the Chambersburg Hospital.

He was born June 11, 1917 in Newville, Cumberland County; he was a son of the late David C. and Blanche Miller Heller.

He retired in 1972 from the Letterkenny Army Depot, a member of Newville First Church of God, life member of the Durff-Kuhn VFW Post # 6168, Shippensburg, and a member of NARFE.

Harold was a United States Army veteran of World War II serving with the 819th Military Police.

He is survived by his wife Janet M. Weaver Heller, a daughter, Susan H. Cook and her husband Johnnie of Shippensburg, three sisters; Jean Feeser of Mt. Holly Springs, Phyllis Shaffer and Helen Fisher both of Newville, and many nieces and nephews.

Harold was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters.

Graveside services with military honors conducted by the Shippensburg American Legion and VFW Posts will be held in Spring Hill Cemetery Friday, October 29, 2010 at 2 p.m. Officiating will be The Rev. Wayne A. Good. There will be no viewing of visitation.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Newville First Church of God, 475 Newville Road, Newville, PA 17241.
