Harold E. Heefner, 84, of Shippensburg, passed away the evening of Friday, February 5, 2021 at his home with his loving family by his side.
He was born on Monday, October 5, 1936 in Shippensburg, a son of the late Harvey O. and Elva Grace (Smetzer) Heefner.
Harold worked as a machinist supervisor at Mack Truck, Inc. (Volvo) for 30 years. He also enjoyed working for Fisher’s Florist and Kathy’s Deli. Harold loved spending time with his family and enjoyed helping friends with building and farming projects. He was very active in the many churches he was a part of and more recently attended the Prince Street United Brethren Church.
He is survived by two sons, Michael E. (Debra) Heefner and Gregory B. Heefner; one daughter, Margaret J. (R. Dale, Jr.) Bowman; seven grandchildren, David, Mark, Rebecca, and G. Benjamin II Heefner, Deanna (Heefner) Burrows, and Ethan and Elliott Bowman; and five great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marlene J. (Brechbiel) Heefner, whom passed away exactly 23 years ago on February 5, 1998. Also preceding in death is one son, Harold E. Heefner, Jr.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., with Rev. Robert L. Mentzer and Pastor Arthur Page officiating. Per Harold’s request, there will be no public viewing, however, there will be a visitation one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Harold will be laid to rest in the Spring Hill Cemetery. For the safety of all in attendance, please wear a mask and maintain a respectful distance when interacting with others.
