Harold L. Diehl, 78, of Orrstown, died Monday, January 28, 2013 in the Chambersburg Hospital.
He was born Monday, January 14, 1935 in Chambersburg, Franklin County. He was a son of the late George M. and Hazel R. Myers Diehl.
Harold was a member of Orrstown United Brethren Church. He retired in 1998 from the Stanley Company in Chambersburg. He also was employed by the former Valley Pride Bakery and the former Domestic Pump both in Shippensburg.
In his early years, Harold enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid football, baseball and NASCAR fan and enjoyed cooking meals especially Sunday Dinner for his family.
Surviving is his wife of nearly 58 years Shirley Ann Shoop Diehl, one son, Donald L. Diehl and his wife Linda of Shippensburg, three daughters; Carol J. Lingle of Shippensburg, Carolyn L. Lockwood and her husband Clark and Lisa K. Flowers and her husband Richard of Catonsville, MD, three sisters; Gladys Horst and Esther Pugh both of Shippensburg and Dorothy Zullinger of Chambersburg, one brother, George M. Diehl Jr. of Orrstown, six grandchildren and one great grandson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Teresa Ann Diehl and a sister, Grace Mackey.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 2, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc. with Lay Pastor Ross Walker and the Rev. Kenneth E. Williamson officiating. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
