Harold L. Bailey, Jr., 79, life-long resident of Roxbury, departed this life on the afternoon, of Saturday, April 4, 2020, at the Chambersburg Hospital.
He was born on February 28, 1941, in Roxbury, the son of the late Harold L. and Laura Grace (Alleman) Bailey, Sr., and married Betty Jean Guyer on November 22, 1958.
Harold retired in 1995 as a material identifier, from Letterkenny Army Depot.
He was a member of the Blue Mountain Assembly of God and in his free time was an avid hunter. Harold loved and cherished his family, especially his grandchildren, and will be sadly missed by those that knew and loved him.
In addition to his wife of sixty-one years, Betty Jean, he is survived by two sons, Donald L. Bailey and wife Deanne of Biglerville, and Daniel S. Bailey of McConnellsburg; his daughter, Jody L. Weist and husband William Jr., of Shippensburg; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; one sister, Judith K. Group and husband Ronald of Biglerville; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.
In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by a sister, Vonnie L. Smith.
His funeral service, entrusted to the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg, will be private. Pastor Sam Mayeski will officiate. Harold will then be laid to rest in the Upper Path Valley Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Blue Mountain Assembly of God at 9886 Otterbein Church Road, Newburg, PA 17240.
