H. Wayne Farner

November 9, 1932 — October 19, 2012

H. Wayne Farner, 79, of Shippensburg, died Friday, October 19, 2012 at home surrounded by his loving family.

Wayne was born November 9, 1932 in Greene Township, Franklin County. He was the son of the late Homer M. and Nellie I. Wiles Farner.

Wayne retired from SKF Industries in Shippensburg after 44 years of employment. He was a member of the Mt. Pleasant United Brethren Church, Chambersburg and the Oscar M. Hykes American Legion Post # 223, Shippensburg. He was a 1950 graduate of the Shippensburg High School. Wayne was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Eva M. Forrester Farner; one son, Wayne A. Farner and his wife Martha of Newburg; two daughters, Deborah M. Perry and her husband William of Shippensburg, and Cynthia R. Hudgins and her husband Robert of Boiling Springs; six grandchildren, Wendy and Travis Perry, Emily and Jennifer Farner, and Kayla and Jamie Hudgins; four sisters, Yvonne Friese and her husband Henry, Sr., Peggy Rhinehart and her husband Robert, and Mary Fraker and her husband Ron all of Shippensburg, and Kay Smith and her husband Jay of Chambersburg; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 23, 2012 in the Mt. Pleasant United Brethren Church at 11 a.m. Officiating will be The Rev. Garry L. Culler. Burial with military honors conducted by the Shippensburg VFW and American Legion Posts will be in the Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens. A viewing will be held Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc., Shippensburg and one hour prior to the services in church Tuesday morning.
