Gretchen D. Kegerreis, 78, of Shippensburg, passed away the morning of Saturday, November 20, 2021 surrounded in love with her daughters.
She was born on April 8, 1943 in Chambersburg, a daughter of the late Norman Camp and Harriot Ann (Warren) Kegerreis, Sr.
Gretchen was very active within the Shippensburg community, volunteering in numerous areas. She served on the executive board committee at Branch Creek Place, where she enjoyed volunteering and meeting friends. She was also involved with the SilverSneakers Exercise Group. Gretchen was a true patriot who had tremendous respect and pride for our United States military service men and women. Most of all, Gretchen enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and friends at Branch Creek. Her fun-loving spirit will be dearly missed by all.
She is survived by her three daughters, Bridgette (Kenneth) Gettel of Shippensburg, Melanie Reed of Chambersburg, and Misty (Clint) Caples of Peachtree, GA; four grandchildren, Vincent Reed, Brent Caples, Hattie Lynch, and Chloe Caples; one sister, Barbara Kegerreis; a son-in-law, Gregory Reed; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three siblings, Rachel Campos, Norma McCoy, and Norman Kegerreis, Jr.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in the Shippensburg First Church of God with Pastor Gary Hornbaker officiating. Interment will be private. A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
