Grant J. Sherman, 77, of Orrstown Road, Orrstown, died Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at his home.
Born March 15, 1935 in Concord, Franklin County, he was a son of the late Thomas Dean and Nettie May Miley Sherman.
Grant served in the United States Navy. He retired as a self employed carpenter. Grant was a member of the Oscar M. Hykes American Legion Post # 223 and he enjoyed pitching horse shoes and making homemade wine.
Surviving are three sons, James W. “Iggy” Sherman and his wife Audrey of Amberson, Michael E. Sherman of Chambersburg and Robert F. Sherman of Orrstown, two daughters, Kimberly M. Sherman of Chambersburg and Catherine J. Sherman of Shippensburg, one sister, Betty Weaver of Shippensburg, two grandsons, Casey Ehrhart and Joseph Sherman, four granddaughters, Ashley Hoch, Joy Sherman, Aryanna Sherman and Dalilah Mills.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Roy Sherman and a close cousin, Joseph Sherman.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc. with the Rev. Lloyd T. Zimmerman officiating. Burial will be in Park Lawns Memorial Gardens with military honors conducted by the Shippensburg Veterans Council. Viewings will be held Monday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday in the funeral home.
