Grace V. Runshaw, 91, of Shippensburg, peacefully went home to be with the Lord with her family by her side, on the evening of Sunday, October 28, 2012.
She was born on November 9, 1920, in Newburg, a daughter of the late Jesse and Mae Piper Rhoads. On March 22, 1937, Grace married Mr. Paul R. Runshaw in Hagerstown, MD. He preceded her in death on March 24, 2010, after 75 years of marriage.
Grace was employed as a seamstress for the former Stanley Co., Chambersburg, retiring after eighteen years of work. Earlier in life, she also worked for Knouse Foods.
She was a long time member of the Mongul United Brethren Church and its Willing Workers Sunday School Class. Grace also enjoyed very much spending lots of time with her large family.
Grace is survived by six sons, Leroy (Doris) Runshaw of Roxbury, Robert (Helen) Runshaw of Cleversburg, Jerry (Ernie) Runshaw of California, Barry (Jean) Runshaw of Orrstown, Ken (Brenda) Runshaw of Chambersburg, and John (Cheryl) Runshaw of Shippensburg; two daughters, Alice (Donald) Stouffer of Shippensburg, and Linda (Robert) Caudill of Orrstown; thirty grandchildren; forty nine great grandchildren; and thirty three great great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Richard and Samuel Runshaw; two sisters, Ruth Flora and Mary Shoap; and one grandson.
Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 2, 2012 at the Mongul United Brethren Church, Shippensburg. Pastor Rocky W. Spear and Pastor John W. Runshaw will officiate. Interment will follow in the Mongul Cemetery. Viewing will be Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Inc., Shippensburg, and one hour prior to the services on Friday, at the church.
