Grace Marie “Peggy” (Rosenberry) Miller, 78, of Shippensburg, departed this life on the afternoon of Saturday, August 28, 2021, at the Embassy of Woodland Park, Orbisonia.
She was born on May 27, 1943, in Chambersburg, a daughter of the late David and Mary (Hoover) Rosenberry and married Richard L. Miller on April 24, 1964, in the Spring Run United Brethren Church.
Peggy graduated from Fannett-Metal High School, earned a Master’s Degree in Education from Shippensburg University in 1984, and then completed the one year “Reading Recovery” program at the Ohio State University. Peggy then went on to have a twenty year career at the Shippensburg Area School District, in elementary education, focusing on reading. She retired in 2007. Peggy was somewhat of a pioneer with “Reading Recovery”, which brought her passion for reading to her career.
In recent years, Peggy enjoyed adult coloring and painting. She was an excellent cook and baker and was always clipping new recipes to try. Music was also an important part of her life, as she enjoyed playing the piano. Peggy loved to look after and take care of all of her cats and she really loved spending time with her grandchildren, as well as her large extended family.
In addition to her husband of fifty seven years, Richard, she is survived by two sons, Dean Miller and wife Christine of Shippensburg, and Daniel L. Miller and wife Jessica of Carlisle; two grandchildren, Jackson and Sarah Grace Miller of Carlisle; five siblings, Dean Rosenberry of Willow Hill, Lena Radonovich and husband George of Ft. Loudon, Carl Rosenberry and wife Anna of Ft. Loudon, Sylvia Gittleman of Pottsville; and Robert Rosenberry and wife Norma of Shippensburg; and many nieces and nephews.
