Grace S. Jones, 80, of Newburg, died on January 7, 2011 at the Kline Hospice House, Mt. Airy, MD.
Born on August 4, 1930 in Lurgan Township, Franklin County, a daughter of the late Otmer F. and Anna P. Coleman Stouffer.
On September 19, 1953, Grace married Mr. Wilbur Jones in Waynesboro, PA.
Grace had a long career as a secretary at Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland. She retired in 1985 and returned to her family home in Pennsylvania.
She was a longtime active member of the Lurgan United Brethren Church. In her leisure time she enjoyed bowling, golf, gardening, and traveling.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Wilbur, one daughter; Alyson J. (Phillip) Escobar of Middletown, MD, one son; Daryl W. (Bridget) Jones of Conowingo, MD, one brother; Roy Stouffer of Lurgan, two sisters; Peg Boyd and Judy Wilson, both of Lurgan, seven grandchildren; Michael, Stephen, Sarah, Emily, Heather, Erin, and Autumn, six great grandchildren; Trinity, Kai, Jared, Uriel, Kayden, and Azriel, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 13, 2011, at the Lurgan United Brethren Church. The Rev. Richard E. Mose and Rev. Edsel Calhoun will officiate. Interment will be in the Parklawns Memorial Gardens. Viewing will be on Wednesday evening, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Inc., Shippensburg.
