Grace A. Hamilton, 95, departed this earth Saturday, August 21, 2010 to join the loved ones who went before her. Most recently, she resided at Falling Spring Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and prior to that she lived at 4911 Philadelphia Ave. both in Chambersburg.
Born March 9, 1915 in Mount Union; she was a daughter of the late William and Viola Myers O’Donnell and her stepfather David Bowers.
She was a member of Air Hill Brethren in Christ Church, Chambersburg.
Grace was appropriately named as she lived her life with grace, kindness and dignity. She is very much missed by her family, extended family, friends and the staff and residents of Falling Spring.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Harrison D. Hamilton who died in 1972 after a lengthy illness, a son, Donald Lee Hamilton who passed away as the result of a drowning accident at the age of ten, three brothers; Charles O’Donnell, Roland O’Donnell, and Robert Bowers, two sisters; Phyllis Bowers Schaeffer, and Mable Bowers Mowery are also deceased.
She is survived by two daughters; Joan Dean Hamilton of Harrisburg wife of the late Michael W. Dean, and Sandra McMillen and her husband Preston of Chambersburg, five grandchildren; LeiLani Gribble Vaughn, John B. Gribble, Lynne Gribble Reynolds, Matthew H. Gribble, and Preston J. McMillen, 7 great grandchildren; Daniel R. Reynolds, Julia G. Reynolds, Madison Perry, John Gribble, Michael Gribble, Tiffany McMillen Peters, and Shaun McMillen.
Funeral services will be held Friday, August 27, 2010 in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc., Shippensburg at 11 a.m. Officiating will be The Rev. Ronald W. Stayman. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. The viewing will be Friday morning one hour prior to the services in the funeral home.
