Grace Brenize

Grace Louise Brenize, 73, of Shippensburg, died Sunday, February 9, 2014 at home.

She was born November 10, 1940 in Mowersville, Franklin County. Grace was a daughter of the late Elmer and Edna Crusey Ocker.

She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Shippensburg, was their treasurer and enjoyed helping with church activities. Grace retired from Cressler’s Trucking after 22 ½ years of service and also drove truck with her husband for over three years. Grace was a 1958 graduate of the Shippensburg High School and enjoyed traveling, camping, gardening and most of all spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband Ray E. Brenize whom she married July 27, 1958; two daughters, Jennette L. Heckman (James, Jr.) and Gretchen K. Mooney (Bruce); one son, Lynn E. Brenize (Jamie); two brothers, Chester and Richard Ocker; five sisters, Betty Parson, Mae Staver, Esther Carver, Jean Mooney, and Mary Heefner all of Shippensburg; a daughter-in-law Jacqueline Brenize of Mt. Airy, MD; eleven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren, and two on the way.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one son, Michael Ray “Strap” Brenize who died February 20, 1998. Three brothers are also deceased.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 15, 2014 in the First Assembly of God Church at 10 a.m. Officiating will be The Rev. Daniel Cluck. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. A viewing will be held Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Shippensburg and one hour prior to the services in church on Saturday.
