Gordon J. Bigler, 68, of Shippensburg, passed away Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at UPMC Carlisle Hospital.
Born Monday, January 5, 1953 in Shippensburg, PA. Gordon was a son of the late Jerry Allen and Peggy A. Holtry Bigler.
Gordon retired from Shippensburg University after 35 years of service. Prior to working at the college he was employed at Valley Baking Company. He also was a part-time farmer. Gordon attended Messiah United Methodist Church. He was a 1971 graduate of the Shippensburg Area Senior High School.
Gordon is survived by his wife, Edna Miller, three sisters, Tina M. (Timothy) Hamilton, Robin VanArt and Sara Jane Johnson all of Shippensburg, four nieces and nephews, Janay M. Hamilton, Emily K. Johnson, and Nathan J. VanArt all of Shippensburg and Jared A. Hamilton of Lancaster and an aunt and uncle, Beverly and Donald Morton of Chambersburg.
Graveside services will be held Monday, October 18, 2021 at 2 p.m. in the Spring Hill Cemetery. Officiating will be Mr. Dennis Oberholtzer. There will be no public viewing or visitation.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society P.O. Box 897, Hershey, PA 17033.
