Glenn E. Burdge, 60, of Shippensburg PA, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, February 28, 2016 in Harrisburg Hospital, surrounded by his family.
He was born on March 26, 1955 in Lewistown, PA. Glenn was a son of the late Donald J. and Arlene E. Yorks Burdge.
He graduated from Southern Huntingdon High School in 1973. After graduation he served his country honorably in the United States Air Force from 1973 to 1977, serving both stateside and in Thailand. During his time in the military he met his wife, Jana Rose-Burdge in Warrensburg, MO. Glenn was a member of the Oscar M. Hykes American Legion Post # 223, the Durff-Kuhn VFW Post # 6168, and the Rod and Gun Club all in Shippensburg. He was an avid hunter, enjoyed stock car racing and was a devoted Penn State football fan. He retired from Letterkenny Army Depot where he worked for 38 years. After retirement he enjoyed time spent with family and friends, Saturdays in Happy Valley watching football and working as a member of the Walls racing team. Glenn was an active member of the Shippensburg Presbyterian Church where he served as a trustee and an elder.
Glenn is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Jana G. Rose-Burdge of Shippensburg, two daughters, Carrie C. Burdge-Eaton and her husband Braden D. of Dry Run, and Allison E. Burdge of Camp Hill, one sister, Debra A. Jones of Chambersburg, three brothers, Frank R. Neidigh and his wife Beverly of Chambersburg, Kenneth R. Burdge of Evansville, IN, and Darwin J. Burdge and his wife Jodi of Shippensburg, and many nieces and nephews and close friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Robert Jones and close friends Gary and Dana Heberlig.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 4, 2016 in the Shippensburg Presbyterian Church at 2:00 p.m. Military honors conducted by the Shippensburg Veterans Council will immediately follow the services in church. Officiating will be The Rev. Michael K. Miller. Burial will be private. A viewing will be held Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Shippensburg and one hour prior to the services at church.
