Glen L. “Sam” Vaughn, 85, of Shippensburg, passed away Monday, February 21, 2022 at UPMC Carlisle Hospital.

Born Monday, June 29, 1936 in Newville, he was a son of the late William R. and Rhoda M. Cramer Vaughn.

Sam was a member of the Ridge Church of the Brethren where he held many positions and was a Church Deacon.

He had been employed by John Franklin Inc., which later became Penn Fuel Inc. from where he retired. After retirement, he enjoyed working on the farm with his two sons and was a “Jack of all Trades”.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Emma Jean Gettel Vaughn whom he married June 14, 1958; two sons, James C. Vaughn, Newville, and Timothy L. (LeAnn) Vaughn, Meyersdale; one brother, Robert C. Vaughn, Shippensburg; four sisters, Esther Nelson, Palmyra, Pauline Rotz, Shippensburg, Ardella Snouffer, Vineland, NJ, and Martha Myers, Thurmont, MD; eight grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Thomas E, Vaughn; five brothers, Raymond, Carl, Victor, Donald, and Kenneth Vaughn; and five sisters, Alberta Long, Helen Clippinger, Ethel Monismith, Betty Paxton Mackling, and Isabelle Halter.

Funeral services and burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Women’s Fellowship of the Ridge Church, 1095 Ridge Road, Shippensburg, PA 17257.
