Glen “Jack” Kenneth Kelley, Sr.
1936 ~ 2011

Glen “Jack” Kenneth Kelley, Sr., age 75, of Shippensburg, passed away in his home surrounded by his loved ones, on Friday, August 5th, 2011.

Born on May 3rd, 1936, in Mainsville, PA, a son of Anna Helm Kelley and the late Jesse C. Kelley.

On April 2, 1955, Jack married Ms. Geraldine A. Reed at the Memorial Lutheran Church, Shippensburg.

Jack was a member of the Local #542 International Union of Operating Engineers for 35 years, retiring in 1997. He was employed by John E. Keener, Inc., Mechanicsburg, for 40 years. Early in his life he loved to drag race and fast cars. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping at Chincoteague Island, VA; but his most precious time was spent with his six beautiful granddaughters, his loving wife, and three adoring sons.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 55 years, Geraldine A. Reed Kelley; his three sons, Glen K. Kelley, Jr. of Walnut Bottom, Gregory K. Kelley and wife Carmen of Newburg, and Gerre “Kurt” Kelley and wife Karen of Shippensburg; six granddaughters Niki, Stephanie, Jacey, Chelsey, Jessica, and MacKenna; his great grandson, Cincere Wood; one brother, Richard C. Kelley and wife Thelma; two sisters, Shirley A. Kelley Jones (late husband Robert H. Jones, Sr.) and Betty L. Kelley Wadel and husband Donald; and numerous nephews and nieces.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Tuesday, August 9, 2011, at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Inc., Shippensburg. The Rev. Dr. J. Gerald Greiner and Chaplain Jeffrey L. Warner will officiate. Interment will be in the Cleversburg Cemetery. Viewing will be Monday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the services on Tuesday, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Odyssey Hospice at 4660 Trindle Road Camp Hill, PA 17011-5610 or the Carlisle Regional Cancer Center at 25 Sprint Drive Carlisle, PA 17015.
