Glen Harvey “Pap” Eckenrode, 96, of Lurgan, peacefully passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at the Chambersburg Hospital.
Born Tuesday, May 8, 1928 in Boiling Springs, he was a son of the late William Harvey and Pearl Irene Guyer Eckenrode.
He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Orrstown.
Glen served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. He worked as a mechanic at the former Richards Textiles and retired from Ingersoll Rand, both in Shippensburg.
Pap enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening alongside his wife. After retirement, he enjoyed woodworking and displaying his work at craft shows, including the Shippensburg Corn Festival.
He is survived by one son, Mark N. (Page) Eckenrode, Lurgan; one daughter, Judy K. (Kurt) Sjoberg, Shippensburg; two grandchildren, Sara A. Sjoberg, and Seth C. (Aliyah) Sjoberg, all of Shippensburg; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, Dora E. Noel Eckenrode, who passed away July 4, 2019; one brother, Paul Eckenrode; and one sister, Janet Keck.
A private graveside service will be held in Spring Cemetery.
