Gerald A. Wise, 88, of Shippensburg, died Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at his daughter’s home in Halifax.
Born April 12, 1924 in Orrstown, Franklin County, he was a son of the late Raymond A. and Dorthea M. Miller Wise.
Gerald retired from the Letterkenny Army Depot in Chambersburg and was a United States Army Veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Orrstown Lodge # 262 F. & A.M., Harrisburg Consistory, Tall Cedars of Lebanon Valley Forest # 145, Letterkenny Rod and Gun Club, Charles Nitterhouse VFW Post # 1599, Chambersburg, and the Oscar M. Hykes American Legion Post # 223, Shippensburg. Gerald was an avid Penn State fan and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy G. Gaston Wise who died February 24, 2012. A brother Raymond T. Wise is also deceased.
He is survived by two daughters, Cheryl W. Franklin and her husband Robert of Halifax, and Candace W. Castellanos and her husband Eddy of Juniper Hills, CA, one sister, Kathryn H. Gayman of Chambersburg, two grandchildren, Trina Rawls of Chesapeake, VA, and Cody Franklin of Halifax, and two great grandchildren.
Private graveside services will be held in the Spring Hill Cemetery in Shippensburg.
