Gerald R. “Jerry” Stern, 56, of Shippensburg, died on Friday, November 21, 2014, at the M.S. Hershey Medical Center.
He was born on May 18, 1958, in Toledo, OH, a son of the late William and Agnes Buckenmeyer Stern.
Jerry worked for TransCore, Harrisburg, PA, in a supervisory position as an Installer, for over twenty five years. He was a life member of the American Automobile Collectors Association and enjoyed classic cars, collecting some for himself from time to time. Jerry enjoyed the outdoors, especially water related activities, such as sailing, boating, and fishing. He was one to make friends easily and had a gift for making people laugh with his quick-whit, which will be sorely missed.
He is survived by his twin brother, Terrance “Terry” Stern of Maumee, OH; sister, Leona (Mike) Mason of Toledo, OH; brother, Russell (Jane) Grover of Lambertville, MI; and several nieces, nephews, and close friends.
In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his wife, Jayne L. Hipple Stern, who died on November 5, 2001.
A visitation will be held from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m., on Monday, November 24, 2014 at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Inc., Shippensburg, with a brief memorial service starting at approximately 7:00 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity of one’s choice.
