Gerald Alfred “Jerry” Fogelsanger, 71, of Shippensburg, passed away the afternoon of Sunday, April 13, 2025 at his home.
He was born on Tuesday, July 28, 1953 in Shippensburg, Cumberland County, a son of the late Frank Alfred and Ada Barbara Kauffman Fogelsanger.
Jerry was a 1971 graduate of the Shippensburg High School. He worked on the family farm for over 30 years and was a truck driver for 28 years with ABF Freight, retiring in 2018. Jerry was a member of Teamsters & Chauffeurs Union #776, Shippensburg Fish & Game, Big Spring Fish & Game, and Hub City Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding motorcycles, and bowling. Most of all, Jerry loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his son, Frank W. (Ginger R.) Fogelsanger of Newburg; one brother, Curtiss E. (Christine) Fogelsanger of Shippensburg; two grandsons, Landon W. and Chase G. Fogelsanger; and two step-sons, Chuck Halter and his family, and Ryan Halter and his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three siblings, William D. “Bill” Fogelsanger, Andrew F. “Andy” Fogelsanger, and Loretta E. Deimler.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 17, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg with Pastor Bruce Levy officiating. Burial will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Jerry’s name may be made to a church of one’s choice.
