George D. Timmons, Jr., 82, of Shippensburg passed away on Thursday, February 14, 2013, at his home.
He was born on October 21, 1930, in Roxbury, a son of the late George D. and Carrie Mackey Timmons, Sr. George was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korean War, honorably discharged in 1953.
George retired from S.K.F. Industries in 1994 as a Computer Programmer. He was presently employed at H & H Chevrolet, Shippensburg, where he worked as one of their Couriers.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, June A. Nye Timmons; his daughter, Pamalee K. Timmons of Shippensburg; and one brother, John (Lois) Timmons of Newburg.
In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by two sisters, Ida Mae Timmons and Mary Hockensmith.
His funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Monday, February 18, 2013, at the Salem United Brethren Church, Chambersburg. Pastor Art Page will officiate. Interment will follow in the Parklawns Memorial Gardens. Viewing will be Sunday afternoon from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Inc., Shippensburg.
