Gary R. Holder, 63, of Orrstown, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 20, 2025 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Born Monday, May 1, 1961 in Cannock, Staffordshire, England. He was a son of the late Raymond and Betty Wilkes Holder.

He attended the Grand Point Church of Shippensburg.

Gary served as a Police Officer in Birmingham, England before he was forced to medically retire in 1991, after an on duty motorcycle accident. Most recently he was a Commercial Banker, working for Mid-Penn Bank in South Central Pennsylvania.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, the outdoors, and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Jodi A. Wenger Holder, whom he married March 27, 1982; four children, Timothy R. (Rebecca) Holder, Orrstown, Hailey A. (Philip) Partsch, Johnstown, Adam G. (companion Maggie Hartigan) Holder, Corning, NY, and Lewis J. (Drew) Holder, Fayetteville; nine grandchildren, Eleanor, James, William, Elliott, Nora, Thomas, Sian, Jack, and Maxson; one brother, Ian (Lesley) Holder; and one sister, Pamela Hand, both of Shrewsbury, England.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Paul Holder; and one sister, Michelle Edwards.

Funeral services and burial will be private. A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, April 12, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at the Grand Point Church of Shippensburg, with Pastor Dan Culbertson officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.

Memorial gifts in honor of Gary Holder may be directed to support liver cancer research at the Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center.
