Gary G. “Jake” Gardner, 80, of Shippensburg, passed away the morning of Friday, July 16, 2021 at the UPMC Carlisle Hospital.
He was born on Wednesday, October 2, 1940, a son of the late Clarence and Helen (Bream) Gardner.
Jake had a ‘green thumb’ and loved to garden. He was also an avid hunter.
He is survived by his wife, Carol (Ocker) Gardner; three children, Wanda Batzel, Kevin (Shawn) Stitt, and Michele Stitt; seven grandchildren, Branden, Jessika (Dan), Fawn (Sam), Colton, Sean, Dylan, and Jacob; and nine great grandchildren, Natilee, Xzavier, Caitlyn, Zach, Aden, Carter, Keegan, Bentley, and Renesmee.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 22, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. Burial will follow in the Parklawns Memorial Gardens. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home.
