Galen L. Nye, 65, of Shippensburg, died Friday, January 25, 2013 in the Emergency Room of the Chambersburg Hospital.
Galen was born March 2, 1947 in Chambersburg. He was a son of the late Willis J. and Ethel W. Bistline Nye.
Galen was a member of the Mongul United Brethren Church, Shippensburg. He retired from Brechbill & Helman Construction Company Inc., Chambersburg.
In addition to his parents Galen was preceded in death by a brother, Edwin R. Nye.
He is survived by his wife, A. Gayle Meyers Nye, two daughters, Melanie A. Nye and Nicole L. Barthalow, beloved granddaughter, Ciera R. Barthalow, three sisters, Kay E. Clark, Wilma K. Dupuis, and Frances G. Nye all of Shippensburg, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 30, 2013 in the Mongul United Brethren Church at 11 a.m. Officiating will be The Rev. Rocky W. Spear. Burial will be in the Mongul Cemetery. There will be no viewing however a visitation will be held one hour prior to the services in church.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Ciera R. Barthalow Education Fund (his loving granddaughter), C/O Orrstown Bank, P.O. Box 250, Shippensburg, PA 17257.
