Galen Lehman

Galen H. Lehman, 80, of Chambersburg, passed away May 25, 2023 at the Menno Haven Rehabilitation Center. Born May 18, 1943 in Chambersburg, he was the son of the late Arthur F. Lehman and Beulah A. (Horst) Lehman. He married Jean E. (Wadel) Lehman on May 9th, 1964.

Galen was a 1961 graduate of Lancaster Mennonite High School. Known for his sense of humor, he was a highly skilled nature photographer who enjoyed hiking, birding, and being outdoors.

A retired minister, he started and pastored Community Mennonite Fellowship in Corning, N.Y. and Living Faith Chapel in Shippensburg. In his later years, he served as chaplain with Marketplace Chaplains and as pastor at Salem Ridge Community Church.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Jean E. (Wadel) Lehman, daughters Katrina Lehman of Chambersburg and Twila (Lehman) Gerlach of Newmanstown, son-in-law Randy Gerlach, grandchildren Austin Gerlach and Amber Gerlach, five sisters, and two brothers.

Services will be held at Living Faith Chapel in Shippensburg. A viewing will be held on May 31st from 5 pm to 7 pm. Funeral services will be held June 1st at 2:00 pm with a viewing one hour before the service.
