G. Beidel

G. William “Bill” Beidel, 74, of Newville, departed this life on the morning of Sunday, May 26, 2024, at his home.

He was born on March 26, 1950, in Harrisburg, a son of the late Kenneth and Marian Beidel. Bill married Audrey J. Prosser on March 1, 1969, in the Leesburg United Methodist Church.

Earlier in life Bill worked at the former Kinney Shoe and C.H. Masland & Sons, Carlisle. He spent the majority of his working life at the former AMP Inc./Tyco Electronics as a maintenance technician and retired in 2012 from Tuckey, where he worked in their HVAC division.

Bill was a member of the Leesburg United Methodist Church, the Carlisle Gun Club, and the Big Spring Fish and Game. He loved to go hunting and fishing and also enjoyed working on cars, gardening, and canning. Those that knew Bill well, knew that he could be fairly ornery at times and was a well-known jokester.

In addition to his wife of fifty-five years, Audrey, he is survived by three children, Tim Beidel of Newburg, Bill Beidel and wife Lisa of Carlisle, and Kristina Smith and husband David of Newville; five grandchildren, Camden, Dalton, and Emmitt Gates; Dominic Bowman; and Abigail Nickey.

In addition to his parents Bill was preceded in death by a son, Mike Beidel, who died in 2012.

A memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m., on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg. Pastor Jan Bye-Dickerson will officiate. Interment will be private. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Saturday afternoon at the funeral home.
