Frederick G. “Fred” Alleman, 92, of Upper Strasburg, passed away Friday, November 20, 2020 at Laurel Lakes Nursing Home in Chambersburg.
Born Wednesday, February, 29, 1928 in Mowersville, PA, he was a son of the late Thaddeus Steven and Lillie Irene Hamilton Alleman.
Fred attended the Upper Strasburg Methodist Church. He retired from Letterkenny Army Depot as a mechanic with over 40 years of service.
In his younger years, Fred enjoyed watching baseball, hunting, bowling, and mowing his lawn.
He is survived by one daughter, Brenda L. (Robert) Flood, Fayetteville; one son, Timothy G. (Diane) Alleman, Upper Strasburg; four grandchildren, Lori Zimmerman, Lurgan, Kristin Alleman Brown, St. Thomas, Daniel Robinson, Fayetteville, and Nathan Alleman, Horse Valley; and ten great grandchildren, Amber, Cynthia, Katie, Gage, Ryan, Bryce, Brayden, Natalie, Ethan, and Logan; two great-great grandchildren, Wyatt, and Makenna; three sisters, Sylvia Pauline Kline, Liliie Irene Byers, and Elizabeth Jean Rebuck.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife on April 29, 2012 Ruth L. Eckenrode Alleman, whom he married July 31, 1948; and eight brothers and sisters.
A private graveside service for family will be held in Parklawns Memorial Gardens.
