Freda Moore

Freda G. Moore, 89, a resident of the Orrstown Personal Care Home and formerly of Upper Strasburg, passed away peacefully on the morning of Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at the home.

Born Sunday, February 7, 1926 in Meadow Gap, Huntingdon County, she was a daughter of the late Paul S. and Zella M. Madden Brown.

Freda retired from the Chambersburg Area School District as Head Cook after 26 years of service. She attended the Upper Strasburg Bible Church and was a member of the Upper Strasburg Senior Center.

Freda is survived by one son, Robert P. (wife Cathy) Moore and one daughter, Donna F. (husband Ken) Shives all of Upper Strasburg, four grandchildren, Lance Moore of Upper Strasburg, Lindsay Bert of Shippensburg, Heather Impriano of Newtown Square and Zachary Shives of Upper Strasburg, one brother, Ralph Brown of Meadow Gap, one sister, Mae Leab of Rock Hill Furnace and 11 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert A. Moore who died April 23, 2004, two brothers, Gene and Donald Brown and one sister, Mildred Banks.

Funeral services will be held Monday, February 23, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc. with the Rev. Richard A. Black, Sr. officiating. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
