Fred L. Kirby, 78, of Shippensburg, passed away the morning of Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at the UPMC Carlisle Hospital.
He was born on August 29, 1943 in Shippensburg, a son of the late Finley V. and Ada (Mooney) Kirby.
Fred was a member of the George Washington Lodge 143 Free & Accepted Masons, Chambersburg. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #223, Minnequa Social Club 375, and Hub City Club, all of Shippensburg. Fred enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, and boating and camping at Lake Raystown with his wife, Helen.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Helen D. (Pensyl) Kirby; one son, Donnie (Kristie) Kirby; one granddaughter, Kayla Berkley; and four siblings, Shelby (Ray) McLaughlin, Charlie (Diane) Kirby, Michael (Sandy) Kirby, and Brenda Martin.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg. There will be no public viewing, visitation, or service at this time.
