Fred W. Johnson, 68, of Shippensburg, died on Friday, May 14, 2010 at the Chambersburg Hospital.
Born in Newville, PA on September 28, 1941 a son of the late George Levi and Marion Weigle Johnson. A 1960 graduate of Shippensburg Area High School.
On May 24, 1986, Fred married Ms. Betty Jane Bishop at the First Assembly of God, in Shippensburg.
Fred worked as a yard jockey for twenty years at PPG Drivers, Inc. He retired in 1994 from Southampton Twp., Franklin Co., where he mainly drove truck.
Fred attended the First Assembly of God, liked to tinker in his garage, and really enjoyed boating and camping.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Betty Jane; one daughter, Sandra L. (Raymond) Laubs of Shippensburg; two step-daughters, Anita K. Bishop and Christine Beth (Kenneth) Englert, both of Hustontown; one granddaughter, Rebecca L. Laubs of Shippensburg; two step-grandsons, Keith R. Englert and Kyle R. Englert, both of Hustontown; three siblings; Joann D. (Charles) Clouse of Newville, Robert G. (Viola) Johnson of Scotland, and James A. (Linda) Johnson of Shippensburg.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Friday, May 21, 2010, at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Inc., Shippensburg. The Rev. Daniel E. Cluck will officiate. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery. Viewing will be on Thursday evening, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at the funeral home.
