Fred N. Hockenberry, 82, of Shippensburg, died Monday, June 13, 2011 in the Chambersburg Hospital.
Born September 20, 1928 in Newburg, he was a son of the late Paul N. and Grace Barnhart Hockenberry.
He retired after 45 years of employment at the Greif Company in Shippensburg. After retiring he worked for Carlisle Productions. He was a member of the Union Lodge # 324 F&A.M. in Mifflintown, Mifflintown Knights Templer, Lewistown Commandery # 26, Lewistown Royal Arch Chapter # 186, Juniata Council # 64, Valley Forest # 145 Tall Cedars of Lebanon, and Harrisburg Consistory.
In additions to his parents he was preceded in death by one daughter, Lori Hockenberry, two sisters, Betty Eichelberger, and Evelyn Hockenberry, and one brother, Dale Hockenberry.
Fred is survived by his wife, Delores McClure Hockenberry, one son, Paul E. Hockenberry of Telford, one daughter, Lisa M. Hockenberry of Shippensburg, six granddaughters, Jennie Maley of Inman, SC, Cathie Marshall of Jacksonville, NC, Korin Ross of Norfolk, VA, Raina Hockenberry of Honolulu, HI, Grace Hockenberry of Shippensburg, and Nicole Hockenberry of Telford, four great grandsons, four great granddaughters, one brother, Ray Hockenberry of East Waterford, three sisters, Shirley Shevlin of Carlisle, Doris Ramsey of FL, and Gail Hockenberry of Rockhill, SC, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday, June 17, 2011 in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc., Shippensburg at 3 p.m. Officiating will be The Rev. Paul L. Yeun. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. Masonic services will be conducted Friday at 1:30 p.m. by the Cumberland Valley Lodge # 315 in the funeral home. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the services.
