Fred M. Gilbert Sr., of Shippensburg, Died Thursday, October 28, 2010 in Manor Care Health Services, Chambersburg.
Born November 21, 1930 in Shippensburg, he was a son of the late Charles Edward and L. Isabel Dixon Gilbert.
Fred retired in 1995 after 35 years of service from New Car Carrier, Baltimore, MD. He served with the Army National Guard, loved gardening especially vegetable and flower gardens, always stayed busy and enjoyed working and painting. Fred was greatly loved and will be sadly missed.
Surviving is his wife of 28 years, Jean A. Lyons, three children, two step children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, two sisters and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, two brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be held Monday, November 1, 2010 at 3:00 P.M. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc., Shippensburg, with Pastor Maynard L. Jones officiating. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service on Monday in the funeral home.
