Frank Stine

October 28, 1936 — November 18, 2020

Frank D. Stine, 84, of Shippensburg, passed away on Wednesday, November 18th, 2020 at the Penn State Hershey Medical Center following a brief illness. Born October 28, 1936 in Cleversburg, Frank was the son of the late Blaine W. and Elsie J. (Russell) Stine.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Judy (Myers), his son Todd, and daughter Stacey Stine-Frawley (husband James), his faithful dog Koko and many, many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his five brothers Wilbur, Charlie, Dave, John, and Edgar, and six sisters Bessie Koser, Curvey Coy, Cora Kling Kunkle, Susie Cramer, Anna Bell, and Doris Stouffer.

Frank retired from the Letterkenny Army Depot Post Restaurant after forty years of service, having never taken a single sick day. Well-loved by all who knew him, Frank’s coworkers said that he was the only man who could drive a tank out Gate 6 without question. Following his retirement, he worked for many years at Naugle Motors (now Shively’s) and Jake Crider’s Catering. He was always one to lend a hand to anyone who needed it and did so with a big smile on his face.

He loved his family immensely, was a very loyal friend, enjoyed country music, westerns, and square dancing, keeping an impeccable lawn, waxing his vehicles for hours on end, savoring a good pipe tobacco (never inhaling), drinking Pepsi-Cola (but never before 10 AM), hunting, and caring for his many dogs that he loved over the years. Known informally as the Mayor of Cleversburg, he was quite the jokester whose sense of humor will never be forgotten. Those who know and love him find peace in knowing that he entered into the gates of Heaven where he now must be telling jokes to the angels.

Services are entrusted to Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home and Crematorium, Inc.
