Frank Kenneth Groce, 87, of Midwest City, OK, formerly of Orrstown, PA, passed away Tuesday, February 14, 2017 in the Norman Veteran’s Center, Norman, OK.
He was born July 15, 1929 in Middle Spring, PA. Frank was a son of the late Lester M. and Blanche Smith Groce.
He retired from the Coors Brewing Company in Golden, Colorado. Frank was a Unites States Army Air Corp Veteran of WWII. He was a member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church, Newburg.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary V. Diehl Groce who passed away January 20, 2014, two brothers, Levi and Charles “Chock” Groce, one sister, Hazel Diehl and one half-brother, Earl Smith.
Frank is survived by four sons; Kenneth L. (Christine) Groce of Midwest, OK, Jeffrey L. (Linda) Groce of Littleton, CO, James L. (Cindy) Groce of Broomfield, CO and Samuel L. (Tamela) Groce of Lakewood, CO; one daughter Susan L. (Rick) Wells of Belmont, NC; 15 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; two half-sisters, Marie Ocker of Shippensburg and Cathy Kline of Orrstown; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 23, 2017 in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Shippensburg at 2:00 p.m. with The Rev. John A. Ile, Jr. officiating. Burial with military honors conducted by the Shippensburg Veterans Council will be held in the Otterbein Cemetery. A viewing will be held Thursday one hour prior to the services in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Otterbein United Methodist Church, 15634 Paxton Run Road, Newburg, PA 17240.
