Ferne G. Madden, 92, a resident of The Village of Laurel Run, formerly of Greene Knolls, Fayetteville, died Tuesday, January 24, 2012 in the home.
Born November 18, 1919 in Waterfall, Fulton County, she was a daughter of the late Blaine and Nora Newman Bergstresser.
She owned and operated the former Ferne’s Beauty Salon in Shippensburg for many years.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Max E. “Hombre” Madden who died March 14, 2007. Two brothers and two sisters are also deceased.
Ferne is survived by one son, Jerry “Max” Madden and his wife D. Jean of Chambersburg, two grandchildren, Lisa Arrowood Fitzgerald of SanFrancisco, CA, Sally Brenneman of Chambersburg, PA and two great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Better Days Animal League, 12310 Mongul Hill Road, Shippensburg, PA 17257.
