Evelyn L. Helm, 87, a resident at Claremont Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Carlisle, and formerly of Shippensburg, died Friday, October 18, 2013 in the Carlisle Regional Medical center.
Born Thursday, September 2, 1926 in Dayton, PA, she was a daughter of the late James O. and Ruth Holtry Baer.
She attended the Shippensburg First Church of God and their Berean Sunday School Class. Evelyn worked at the former Hoffman Mills, Shippensburg.
Evelyn enjoyed crocheting and bingo.
Surviving are three sons, Gary L. (Sharon) Baer of Newburg, Steven L. Helm, address unknown, and Dennis L. (Robin) Helm of Camp Hill; two brothers, Earl Baer of Shippensburg, and Guy Baer of Fayetteville; one sister, Thelma Shannabrook of Newport News, VA; seven grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles L. Helm who died in 1972. Five brothers and one sister are also deceased.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, October 24, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the Shippensburg First Church of God. Officiating will be the Rev. William E. Myers. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. Viewings will be held Wednesday, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral home Inc. and one hour prior to the service in the church on Thursday.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Shippensburg First Church of God, 121 East King Street, Shippensburg, PA 17257.
