Evelyn L. Crider, 89, a resident of Hagerstown Mennonite Fellowship Home, formerly of Shippensburg, died Thursday, March 20, 2014 in the home.
She was born January 8, 1925 in Shippensburg, Franklin County. Evelyn was a daughter of the late Amos E. and M. Louise Besore Martin.
She was a member of the Rowe Mennonite Church, Shippensburg.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Lester L. Crider who died April 11, 2000. A grandson, Randall Knicely and four brothers are also deceased.
Evelyn is survived by four sons, Glenn L. Crider (Mary) and, Larry L. Crider (Kelley) all of Shippensburg, Ray M. Crider (Martha) of Newville, and Max E. Crider (Berniece) of Carlisle, six daughters, Barbara A. Diller (Jeryl) of Upper Strasburg, Wanita J. Diller (Larry) of Myerstown, Joyce L. Diller Varner (Tom) of Orrstown, and Lorene F. Hege (Sanford), and Debra K. Hege (Harlin) all of Chambersburg, and Joanne S. Martin (Dwight) of Spring Run, 37 grandchildren, 78 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 24, 2014 in the Rowe Mennonite Church at 10 a.m. Officiating will be the clergy of the church. Burial will be in Rowe Cemetery. A viewing will be held Sunday from 2-4 p.m. and from 6-8 p.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Shippensburg.
