Eugene L. “Gene” Albright, 81, of Shippensburg, died Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at the Chambersburg Hospital.
Born Sunday, May 10, 1936 in Lebanon, PA, he was a son of the late George and Winifred MartzAlbright.
Gene was a 1954 graduate of the Lebanon High School.
He was a United States Navy Veteran serving with the U.S Navy Construction Battalion from 1955 thru 1959. He retired from Headquarters, Depot Systems Command, as a Quality Assurance Specialist in 1993, after 36 years with the Federal Government. Since then he has worked as a functional analyst with Signal Corp and Ibes Inc. Gene worked briefly as a recruiter for Raytheon Aerospace.
Gene was Worshipful Master, Orrstown Lodge #262 F. & A.M. He was a member of the Valley Forest # 145 Tall Cedars of Lebanon, President of the Shippensburg Scottish Rite Club, and Received 33 Degree Grand Rapids, Michigan.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Simone M. Keller Albright whom he married March 28, 1960; two sons, Jeffrey S. (wife Elizabeth) Albright, Mechanicsburg, and Richard E. (wife Sheryl) Albright, Hampstead, MD; four grandchildren; Alyssa, Jillyan, Jordan, and Morgan, seven great grandchildren, Brooklyn, Avery, Dredyn, Kyric, Parker, Paxton, and Ryleigh; two sisters in-law, Janet and Nancy Albright, both of Lebanon.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers; William and John “Butch” Albright.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium Inc., with The Rev. Dr. Francis H. Norton officiating. Burial will be in Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery with Military Honors. A viewing will be held Tuesday, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. with a Masonic Service being conducted by the Orrstown Lodge #262 F. & A.M. at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Orrstown Lodge # 262, C/O Larry Hill, P.O. Box 183, St. Thomas, PA 17252.
